Glasgow’s Response
A community directory has launched, providing vital support to voluntary groups and the public during the current crisis. Developed by the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO), the Covid-19 Third Sector Information Hub allows groups to share what non-medical help they can offer to the public and other organisations. It also enables groups to share what assistance they require and find offers of help between organisations. At the same time, the public can access it to search for support from organisations in their community, using a geographical search and to find information on how they can volunteer or help in their community. The site is gradually building its database of contacts.

GCVS has  launched the Glasgow Helps website https://www.glasgowhelps.org/north-west-glasgow/ to highlight services that people can access at this time or where there is spare capacity for new clients in existing services. If you have a service that could be included, you can add your organisation via a link on the webpage. Or for more information you can email CLD@gcvs.org.uk . You can has also see their services directory http://www.gcvs.org.uk/blog/glasgow-community-support-around-covid19-directory/ .

They have also launched a HELPLINE for organisations and members of the public who need support during the coronavirus outbreak. It aims to help put people in self isolation in touch with charities or community groups who can offer services such as food delivery or mental health support and for charities who need support with offering their services to communities. Helpline Details: T: 0141 345 0543 E: helpline@gcvs.org.uk Available Mon-Fri 9am-5pm
