***The Third Sector Homelessness Fund plans to open for applications in early January 2021. This £3 million funding from the Scottish Government is for third sector organisations delivering homelessness services in Scotland. Read more HERE

The fund plans to open to online applications w/c 5th January with a closing date of 8th February. The Scottish Government aims to communicate funding decisions to all applicants by the end of March 2021. ***The #ShiftThePower Coronavirus Response Fund*** which helps grassroots organisations in Scotland to support vulnerable individuals, families, and communities, including coping with the impacts of Coronavirus has reopened.

The Fund, delivered by Corra Foundation, will provide grants of up to £10,000 and is open to charities and voluntary organisations with an income of less than £250,000.

***People’s Postcode Trust*** Charities and good causes in Scotland will be able to apply for funding of up to £20,000 in the new year from People’s Postcode Trust, a grant giving charity funded by players of People’s Postcode Lottery. People’s Postcode Trust will now focus solely on helping organisations in Scotland and funding is available to cover core costs, as well as project-based initiatives. There will be an income cap of £1million has been introduced. Priority will be given to groups with an income of less than £500,000.

Applications will open around the 1st of each month from 1st February 2021 to 1st October 2021 and will close each month once the maximum number of bids are received. Find out more information https://www.postcodetrust.org.uk/

***Resilience Funding*** Foundation Scotland is inviting applications for the Resilience phase of the Community Response, Recovery and Resilience Fund (RRR Fund). Grants of between £1,000 and £5,000 are available and organisations can use them for activities such as:

  • Training and development of staff
  • Purchase of equipment to ensure organisations have the hardware required to continue to deliver services effectively.
  • Training and resources for charities and communities regarding changes to operation and working practices necessary for safe delivery of services.
  • Helping organisations change their approach or adapt their services to meet social distancing guidelines.
  • Adapting outdoor activities and spaces to enable services to safely continue during the winter months and beyond.
  • Developing specific resources/infrastructure to deal with mental health issues

***Delivering Equally Safe Fund*** Equally Safe is Scotland’s strategy to prevent and eradicate violence against women and girls. Delivering Equally Safe is the name of the Scottish Government funding programme to support third sector organisations and public bodies contribute to the objectives, priorities, and outcomes of the Equally Safe strategy. It combines various funding streams, including the Equally Safe (Violence Against Women and Girls) and Rape Crisis Specific fund. ***The Weir Charitable Trust***  has launched a one-off emergency fund totalling £200,000 to be directed to support the most vulnerable people across Scotland.  This is in addition to the normal 6 monthly cycle of awards. ***Asda Foundation: Feeding Communities Grant Scheme***: to provide meals for those in need in the run up to Christmas. Grants of up to £1,000 to provide meals costing £4 or less for individuals, families, and children’s healthy holiday clubs e.g. to provide food parcels, Christmas meal delivery or collection, Christmas hampers, support for soup kitchens/homeless centres. Applications should be made through each local Asda store’s Community Champion whose role is to support projects. The deadline for applications is the 6th December 2020.

***Creative Scotland Culture Collective Fund A £1.5 million Scottish Government initiative has been launched to establish a network of creative practitioners, organisations and communities to respond to the impact of COVID-19 by providing employment opportunities and actively engage people in shaping the future cultural life of their community. ***Global Majority Fund  – New funding from Comic Relief will target communities experiencing racial inequalities across the UK as the charity attempts to address the disproportionate impacts of Covid-19.

The new fund is encouraging applications from organisations taking an intersectional approach, working with communities experiencing racial inequality and other inequities, including those with other protected characteristics or lived experiences. It will be distributed as part of The Global Majority Fund. The Programme has two strands:
Adapt & Thrive
The programme aims to support organisational change. It offers tailored support and funding to develop a plan so third sector organisations can operate sustainably post-COVID.
Communities Recovery Fund
The fund aims to support the delivery of services in communities that were suspended or reduced because of COVID, or the creation of new services that tackle new challenges presented by COVID.

***Aviva Community Fund have broadened their eligibility criteria,  in response to the current pandemic, to support causes in addressing the impact of the outbreak. It supports projects that boost the resilience of communities in the face of uncertainty and is investing in two key areas: community resilience and financial capability and inclusion. The focus is on funding small charities and giving them the opportunity to innovate and test new ideas without fear of risk.

Eligible projects should submit an online application form and create a project page which explains your idea. These pages will be available to all Aviva employees to browse and donate to. Charities can also share their pages to also raise public donations. ***The People’s Postcode Lottery is offering £3m in funding to charities for “high-impact and original projects” that will help communities in Britain recover from problems that have been highlighted or exacerbated by the coronavirus outbreak.Grants of £500,000 and £1m are available. Priority areas for support include- educational inequalities, homelessness, domestic violence, health and wellbeing, poverty, social exclusion and isolation.

***The National Lottery Community Fund  Scotland Update.

National Lottery Awards for All Scotland, will remain open and unchanged. As will Young Start, thefund supporting youth-led work for young people aged 8-24.

Improving Lives fund remains open and will be quicker to access. They will focus on making smaller, shorter grants. From October 1 2020 the maximum Improving Lives grant will be £200,000 for up to three years. They are reviewing how they can expand the criteria to help support recovery from COVID-19.

Community-Led Activity fund remains open and they are reviewing this fund to make sure it remains relevant to the current situation. They are prioritising COVID-19 responses across all our funds– but we are also funding lots of non-COVID-19 related work, so you can still apply for that too

***Foundation Scotland has removed the income cap for applicants to its crisis fund, allowing more charities to seek emergency financial help during the Covid-19 pandemic. They are widening the scope of the Response, Recovery and Resilience Fund to support even more organisations with their recovery. *** Leather Sellers’ Company Small Grant Programme. To be eligible to apply for a small grant from the Leathersellers’ Fund in 2020-2021 you must be applying for £3,000 or less, be a UK registered charity, be currently supporting vulnerable people in geographical areas of high deprivation, have an annual income under £200,000. ***Pedal for Scotland – Community organisations can now apply for grants of up to £10,000 to organise beginner-friendly, local cycling events in 2021. The fund will support community organisations to deliver local cycling events next year, subject to Covid-19 restrictions. Events should support inclusive cycling and highlight local cycling infrastructure and opportunities. Find out more

***Comic Relief Change Makers Fund deadline has been extended to 25th September 2020. Funding is available for 3 to 5 years and they will fund investments from £150,000 to £600,000. This funding opportunity is about looking to the future and making a bigger change. They are looking for organisations that will make a significant contribution to their sector and for change making efforts that are relevant to their social change themes of homelessness, forced migration, gender justice, mental health, and early childhood development.
