New 3C Community Choices Canal Employability Fund launched in Canal

Applications are invited from local people, community groups and third sector organisations in Canal.

The 3C Community Choices Canal Fund has £200,000 to invest in the Canal community. 3C is looking for applications from local community groups and third sector organisations, who can provide activities, projects and services to improve employability in Canal.

3C Community Choices Canal (3C) are a group of residents from across the Canal area of Glasgow , who formed a citizen’s panel, as part of Glasgow City Council Participatory Budgeting (PB) pilot scheme. Canal area includes Cadder, Hamiltonhill, Lambhill, Possilpark, Milton, Parkhouse and Ruchill

The new fund launches today (11th March 2019) and closing date for applications is Friday 29th March at 5pm. Applicants can apply to 3 different funds

  • Fund 1 -‘Try It Out‘ fund – applications of £500-£1000 for local people or groups to try out an employability idea
  • Fund 2 -‘Main‘ fund – for applications of up to £30,000 for constituted groups and voluntary sector organisations who want to deliver employability services in the Canal area
  • Fund 3 -‘In Work Training‘ fund – a small fund for organisations that employ local people to develop their skills

The 3C Applications Assessment Process:

The application process will be assessed by the 3c citizen’s panel to make sure they meet the criteria.

Applicants who meet the criteria will be invited to come along to the 3c Fun Day  on 27th April 2019 where they will have a stall to tell people about their idea. Local people will be asked to vote for those projects they like best.

Digital Voting will open 20th April 2019

Successful applicants will be awarded the funding.
